High Wycombe company achieves rare Gold Standard Investors in People Award

19 September, 2011, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, UK... The Mayor and Mayoress of High Wycombe attended a lunch at APMG – a long established examination and accreditation company based in High Wycombe – to celebrate the organization’s achievement of the Investors in People (IiP) Gold Standard.

Less than 1.25% of organizations that are accredited by IiP go on to attain the Gold Standard, APMG took the opportunity to acknowledge its employees’ contribution to the company’s continued success. To reach Gold Standard, the company met a set of requirements relating to the improvement of the performance of the organization. Jan Jenkins, Global HR Manager, explained, “People development is one of our top objectives so we decided to go for Gold as we already had the Silver accreditation and had a number of initiatives in the pipeline.”

In the IiP report, APMG was praised for the involvement of staff in devising strategic goals, and for its strong management and staff interaction. Alan Ward, Assessor, IiP, stated, “The achievement of Gold by The APM Group enhances not only the company but the Standard itself. The striving for continuous improvement and excellence is an example to all.”

The Gold Standard is a celebration of all the positive efforts throughout the organization and reflects all the hard work of all those involved. The APM Group believes IiP accreditation will give potential employees and clients a higher degree of confidence in its services, therefore enhancing its reputation. Speaking at the lunch, the Mayor Councilor Chaudhary Allah Ditta, said, “I congratulate you all on setting such a good example to the local business community and being willing to share your experience to help other local businesses and charities to advance.” Jan Jenkins added, “We’re thrilled to receive Gold accreditation and will not rest on our laurels.”

The main objective of IiP is to improve an organization’s performance through the development of its people. Richard Pharro, CEO, APMG, extended his appreciation, “Many organizations say their people are their biggest asset, this award proves that is so for us. Achieving gold status is well deserved recognition of the effort we put in, both corporately and individually to develop and work to world class HR and corporate processes. Well done everyone.”
