APMG-International Launches India Operations
**APMG – the specialist provider of Project, Programme, Portfolio, Risk and Service Management accreditation – is to offer its services in India
**India’s First ‘Best Practice Showcase’ in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai will launch the new service
Bangalore, November 10, 2010: APMG-International offers a range of accreditation and certifications from the Office of Government Commerce, UK (OGC, Govt of UK). APMG commenced its India operations from its office in Bangalore in this year. Its portfolio includes the OGC Best Management Practice qualifications such as ITIL®, and PRINCE2®, all of which are relevant to current business scenarios, extremely robust and proven in many countries. In addition, APMG offers a host of specialist qualifications such as Change Management, Agile Project Management and Service Catalogue. APMG recently launched a series of qualifications such as Change Analyst, Agile Project Management, Management of Value (MoV™) and OBASHI to name a few.
APMG accredits training organizations or ATOs, who have a wide variety of qualifications to choose from if they want to extend their offering to professionals seeking highly prestigious qualifications. It also accredits consultants to help organizations improve performance and enhance productivity.
Richard Pharro, CEO, APMG said “We hope to accredit a few of the highly professional training organizations and institutions in India within the first year of operations. Worldwide we enable Accredited Training Organizations (ATOs) to provide relevant qualifications to professionals from across industries like Power, Oil & Gas, Iron & Steel, IT, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, Pharma, R&D to name a few. India has a market potential of over Rs 100 in this sphere of professional qualifications, and we want it to be our hub for providing qualifications in the Indian sub-continent, South Asian and African countries.”
As part of its launch initiative APMG is introducing its highly acclaimed ‘Best Practice Showcase. Having hosted this event in the UK and Australia, and with an eight-year successful track record, the event has attracted over 3500 satisfied delegates from, Europe, Asia and Australia. APMG aims to replicate that success in the South Asian region this year.
Mr Alan Harpham, Chairman, APMG will launch the three-day event and present a summary of the organization’s growth chart. He will give an insight into white papers on some of the methodologies produced by Independent analysts and details of the P3M3® maturity model
On expectations from the Showcase, Manoj Sethu, GM, APMG–India said, “APMG’s ‘Best Practice Showcase’ has over the last eight years consistently provided a bird’s-eye view of the key OGC frameworks. The components of any project overlap and intermingle, but you need them to fit together seamlessly. And what better than a series of courses and qualifications that forms a natural extension or sub-set of the other, each serving the need of the hour.
A myth that is expected to be broken is that these frameworks are European focused. I believe that in deriving true benefits from a functional service model, classifications do not help. None of the qualifications are prescriptive, but are just robust, and can be tailored to one’s own business. Another myth we intend to break is that such project methodologies are for larger multi-location organizations,” Mr Sethu said.
“Best Practice Showcase India Series 2010’ will take place in Bangalore (Nov 16), Mumbai (Nov 17) and in Delhi (Nov 19). Besides providing a platform for networking with peers in the project, programme, portfolio and risk managers, it will provide an insight into applying PRINCE2® 2009, MSP®, ITIL®, P3O® (Portfolio, Programme and Project Office) frameworks. Speakers from the industry who have hands-on experience using the PRINCE2® methodology will provide a great eye-opener.
To attend this International showcase and take the opportunity to explore this new project management outlook, whilst exchanging ideas and strategies for putting it into practice with other experienced project managers, you should to register at www.eventspace.in/apmg.
