M_o_R® Qualification Overview
There are two M_o_R® qualifications, the Foundation and the Practitioner:
Foundation
A multiple-choice paper containing 45 questions to be answered in 45 minutes. This is a closed-book examination.
Practitioner
Objective-Testing Format - An objectively marked assessment of 3 hours duration (including reading time).
Each of the 9 questions is worth 20 marks, giving a maximum of 180 marks in the paper. You need to achieve a score of 50% to pass this paper.
The exam is an 'open book' examination. Candidates may make use of the Management of Risk: Guidance for Practitioners (the Management of Risk 'guide'), published by TSO, together with the APMG guidance document ABC Guide Part A Example Techniques. No material other than the Question Booklet, the Scenario Booklet, the Answer Booklet and the two guides is to be used.
Re-Registration
All M_o_R Practitioners should be re-registered within 3-5 calendar years of their original certification. Find out more about the Re-Registration Examination.
How to take the Exams
There are two routes towards obtaining the M_o_R qualifications - you can sit the exams at the end of a training course, or study privately and then book the exam without a training course, at one of APMG-International's Open Centres. Find out more about Public Exam Centres.
For details of training courses, please contact an Accredited Training Organisation.
Eligibility
Candidates must pass the Foundation Exam before the Practitioner Exam, either on the same day or separately. If a candidate has previously passed the Foundation Exam, they qualify to sit the Practitioner Exam without needing to re-sit the Foundation.
If a candidate sits the Foundation Exam only, and passes, they will receive a "Foundation Examination" certificate stating that they have passed. However, if a candidate sits both the Foundation and Practitioner Exam on the same day, and passes both, they will receive a "Practitioner Examination" certificate, but not a "Foundation Examination" one.
